  22. I've forgotten all about it -- how long ago was it, anyway?  It feels like a
  23. couple of years, though I seem to remember it as being in the early part of
  24. last month.  (Time flies when you have as much to juggle as I do at this
  25. time of year.)  Anyway, as you said, it's done and buried -- so what can we
  26. argue about now?  :-)

  28.    One thing I'll say in my defense, though, for those readers who
  29.    somehow got the article: There's a difference between clueless newbies
  30.    who parade around this newsgroup saying "ab0rtion is murder" and reply
  31.    to every single thing a pro-choicer says by parroting those words over
  32.    and over again, and considerate pro-lifers who believe that abortion
  33.    is murder but can back up their opinions by responding considerately
  34.    to pro-choice arguments.  (As in, "I know you feel that abortion
  35.    should be allowed because _____, but I still believe that the reasons
  36.    to protect a fetus are more important than the reasons you give to
  37.    take its life because _____.")

  39.    I encourage considerate discussion with pro-lifers.  I don't like it
  40.    when people assume some morally superior attitude, though.  You seem
  41.    reasonable, Patrick; I look forward to debating with you.  :)

  43. Welcome to the wrangle, then -- you'll be a welcome change from such
  44. paragons of honesty as Holtsinger and Nyikos (and maybe even that Chaney
  45. guy, if he decides to come back).  I know there are at least a few pro-life
  46. folks with their heads set on straight out there, as I've encountered a few
  47. in person -- and we need more of them in this newsgroup.

  49. Anyway, the rest of y'all can go back to the regularly scheduled food fight.
