  35. Total morbidity for D&C and Suction abortions: 8.8 complications per
  36. 1000 abortions, or 0.88%.
  37. Total mortality for D&C and suction abortions: 4.0 per 100,000
  38. abortions, or 0.004%.
  39. Compare that to complication rates as high as 20% from illegal
  40. abortions.
