  18.     I think you have definitely hit on something.  Because Jews _ARE_
  19. in a minority in the world (let alone the U.S.), there is either a
  20. concious or sub-conscious drive to retain the religious line.  Personally,
  21. I cannot even imaging having kids that aren't at least culturaly Jewish,
  22. but having kids that are totally non-Jewish from having a gentile wife
  23. would really give me guilt like you wouldn't know.....
