- My housemate got a call the other day from the Vermont Ski Association,
- to chat about how they might take advantage of the Colorado boycott.
-
- After all, Vermont is the largest ski state with a G/L
- nondiscrimination law.
-
- We had a good chuckle about what some of our conservative opponents
- to the law would think of that. At one of the hearings, state rep
- Howrigan said loud enough for the press to hear, but not loud enough to
- be picked up by the mike: ``We don't want Vermont to become a
- state of cornholers.''
-
- We then thought about how we could do like Czechoslovakia (where
- my housemate recently traveled): due to a shortage of hotels,
- visitors often stay in the homes of private citizens who rent out
- spare rooms.
-
- Make a friend in Vermont, and ski too! Or something like that.
