  30. Heavens, George, I can laugh about the stuff I find important,
  31. provided that any criticism is based on fact.  If I were to
  32. call Burl Ives a "hairless twink" -- the exact analogue of 
  33. *X*'s error wrt standards of female beauty from the '30s
  34. through the early '60s -- I'd expect a million flames from
  35. ursinophiles.  I express my tastes and talk about my interests,
  36. and I'm willing to argue about them (into the ground), but it's 
  37. always with a sense of humor *except* for those times when
  38. someone is *way* off base when it comes to the facts.
