  19. I want to see this Effort At Housecleaning continue with momentum,
  20. so I'd like to suggest the following:

  22. For a period of TWO weeks (starting today and ending Jan 7, 1993) send
  23. your proposals for a new hierarchy for what is currently soc.motss to
  24. me (exukev@exu.ericsson.se), outlining the following:
  25.  
  26. - The full name of each proposed sub-group in the new hierarchy
  27.  
  28. - The type of discussions to be conducted in each sub-group
  29.  
  30. - Whether each subgroup is to be moderated, un-moderated, 
  31.   or auto-moderated to remove cross-postings
  32.  
  33. - A short description/rationale/defense of the hierarchy
  34.   naming scheme you propose.
  35.  
  36. - If you want your name removed from the proposal suggestion (to
  37.   preserve muffinhood/anonymity), then please state such in your
  38.   proposal message.  It will be honored.
  39.  
  40. Your proposal WILL be acknowledged when received.  If you don't
  41. get an acknowledgement (taking into account that I am taking off
  42. 12/24-12/27 and 12/31-1/3), then resubmit your proposal.
  43.  
  44. You may submit more than one proposal - if you have several good
  45. ideas at a new hierarchy.
  46.  
  47. At the end of two weeks, I will compile a summary message(s) listing
  48. ALL of the submitted proposals, in their entirety, along with an
  49. identifying Proposal Number.  These proposal summary posts will be
  50. repeated several times to make sure everyone gets a chance to see
  51. them.

  53. If you want soc.motss to remain unchanged, then a proposal should
  54. be sent along those lines with your reasoning.  Only submitted 
  55. proposals will be included in the proposal summary posts.
  56.  
  57. I will also begin collecting votes from the soc.motss/soc.bi
  58. readership on which proposal is best/most-popular.  Only one vote per
  59. person (your last vote, if you cast multiple votes, will be the
  60. deciding vote).  Details and format of the voting "form" and
  61. net-address to which the voting form should be sent will be posted
  62. with the proposal summary posts.

  64. At the end of the two week voting period, I will post the results
  65. of the vote, and the necessary Call For Discussion posts can be
  66. distributed throughout the known net.world.
  67.  
  68. The proposal posts should NOT be cross-posted to anyplace outside of
  69. the soc.motss/soc.bi newsgroups - we don't need a lot of outside noise
  70. on this portion of the discussion - we'll get plenty of that when the
  71. Call For Discussion message is sent out.
