- I think you misunderstood John's post. Nobody was questioning the
- joy of having a baby nor the sharing of the joy with friends and
- family. What was in question was the self-congratulatory nature
- of such announcements and the theories behind the "proud father"
- syndrome.

- I find it revealing that a couple of posters flew off the handle
- on this subject. Have we discovered a new sacred cow?
