- Anyone in California familiar with the present status of the "Coalition for
- Family Equity"'s attempt to rig the legal system to automatically give women
- the children and men indenturement in case of divorce?
-
- The coalition claimed to represent 50000 professional women (which I doubt)
- and feminists (? are there this many "feminazis" in CA?), and attempted to
- revise California's no-fault divorce laws by creating 2 new categories, the "
- primary caretaker" (mother) and "secondary caretaker" (father). The primary
- caretaker, the mother unless the father can _prove_ otherwise, automatically
- gets the children, reducing the stress of divorce for women. Because men
- know in advance they'll lose, this is supposed to reduce litigation....?
- The group also wants to eliminate the "friendly parent" rules, which are
- disincintives for vindicative parents using kids to get back at each other.
