- I'm glad it is just for argument's sake. It does not work in
- practice if, for example, you are headed for the same bus stop.
- I have found that one can seem less intimidating in such
- situations merely by smiling and saying "hi" when one enters
- the scene. Of course, it probably depends on *how* one does
- this, and regardless, any change in others' perception from
- this is probably as irrational as most other perceptions
- about risk.
