- About 2 years ago we took our '85 in to Honda of Seattle 'cuz it ran very
- rough when cold, to the point of stalling at idle.
-
- We picked it up a few days later (we had to call them and ask "is it done
- yet?), and it was just as bad. We took it back, talked to them patiently,
- they gave us a loaner car. It took another week + (it was over the
- Christmas holiday though), and when we got it back it was better. Not
- fixed, it still had the same problem, but it didn't stall anymore -- we
- could use it reliably now.
-
- All said and done, it took several trips to Seattle to pick or drop off
- the car, several hundred dollars for carberatour work (they are expensive),
- and several days without a car. All for a better working, but still not
- entirely fixed problem.
-
- So last year, when it started running crappy again (in other words the
- weather got cold), we tried Don Carlton Honda. Their customer interface
- person was extremely friendly and helpful, however, the work just didn't do
- the job. We had the car in and out of the place several times over 3 or 4
- weeks. They replaced several parts, never even made it a little better.
- They are also not cheap.
-
- During this process, the friendly/helpful customer service person
- disappeared "he's no longer with us". I do not know if he left or was
- dumped. Whatever the case, once he was gone, things got worse.
-
- About this time we heard a tidbit on the radio that there was a class-action
- lawsuit going on against them. I tried to get more info on this from
- Attorney General etc., but gave up after about the 4th phone call.
-
- Since that time, they have changed the company name to Kirkland Honda.
- I believe this is significant. I will not go back to them.
-
- This year, now that it's running crappy again, we were thinking of trying
- someone else. I guess it's gonna be Scott's.
