  21. (California State University, Northridge (CSUN).  December 15, 1992).
  22. On December 11, twenty-five (25) leaders came together from the fields
  23. of virtual reality and rehabilitation and assistive technology to plan
  24. the June 17-18, 1993 meeting, "Virtual Reality and Disability," to be
  25. held at the Westin Hotel near the San Francisco Airport.

  27. Greenleaf Medical Systems, CyberEdge Journal, Pacific Bell, and the
  28. California Department of Rehabilitation agreed to co-sponsor the
  29. conference.  Dr. Walter Greenleaf has agreed to Chair the Advisory
  30. Board.

  32. A Call for Papers has been issued. Papers are solicited which deal
  33. with applications in the field of disability, access issues, and the
  34. potential of VR to assist persons with disabilities.
  35.  
  36. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together three groups: the
  37. Virtual Reality community, the disability community, and the
  38. rehabilitation/assistive technology community in order to stimulate
  39. new applications of VR, insure that persons with disabilities have
  40. access to VR technologies, and the integrate VR into the
  41. rehabilitation/assistive technology field.
