- 747-400 is essentially a new aircraft inside an airframe
- which has been around 20 years. 747-400 debuted in the
- mid-80s. Using this argument, why can we not add new
- engines, a new cockpit, and new materials to the Shuttle
- and keep it flying as the Shuttle-400? :-)
