- I'm chief psychologist at a hospital. We will be interviewing
- candidates for a behavioral medicine psychologist for the
- hospital's new pain clinic, and we'll need biofeeedback
- equipment. The problem is that capital budget requests for
- new equipment are due next week, so I have to select the
- equipment, even though my knowledge of biofeedback equipment
- is pretty ancient and wasn't that thorough to begin with.
- So, I need advice on what type of equipment to get.
-
- I believe that the basic needs are for EMG and thermal, and I
- know we want computerized data collection. I've got literature
- on a system called BioLab Computerized Physiological Monitoring
- System, which hooks to a PC, but I don't know if there are
- newer/better systems around. I see it electrode gels and
- pastes, and I don't know if the newer electrodes that use
- no gels are better or worse than the ones that do use gels.
- The price on the BioLab, with software and EMG and thermal
- modules is $7995.00.
-
- I've also got literature from Orion. Also for $7995 you get a
- dedicated unit that includes eight modalities, and seems more
- up to date.
-
- Any expert advice from biofeedbackers would be appreciated.

- Thanks.
