- That's already happening to a considerable extent; witness the FAQ file. I
- don't think that a moderated sci.physics.[research/moderated] will spell the
- end of professional participation in sci.physics; if anything, it's plausible
- that *more* physicists will read, because the promise of a "useful" group will
- overcome the prevailing -- and growing -- perception of Usenet as a useless
- collection of dilettantes. Each *individual* physicist may participate less,
- it is true; but the prospect of rejuvenating the net as a place where pros
- can interact may attract (or fail to repel...) enough people to make up for
- that.
