- Hello All,
-
- I have a question or two about protein supplementation.
-
- I once read, in a bodybuilding magazine, that bodybuilders require
- about twice as much protein as do "ordinary" people. More specifically,
- the average person needs about 1 gram of protein for each kilogram of
- body weight, whereas bodybuilders require 1.5 to 2 grams per kg. of
- bodyweight. Is this true?? It seems reasonable to me since
- bodybuilding causes muscle tearing, and protein is needed to repair
- and strengthen the muscles.
-
- Also, what form of protein supplementation is best (aside from a well
- balanced diet). How are the protein powders that once can buy at places
- like the GNC??
-
- Many thanks in advance...
