- In reference to your question: why organic?

- In the U.S. there are currently more than 500 pesticides used
- on food crops plus additional chemicals such as grain
- preservatives.
- Many of these have been linked to harmful effects.
- Their use on farms obviously cannot be heavily controlled
- as to amount used, etc.
- Occasionally one of these 500 chemicals is taken off the
- acceptable list when linked strongly to cancer causation.
- Then the chemical company producing it is still allowed
- to continue production and sell to other countries which
- in turn use it on crops which crops sometimes end up back
- in American supermarkets.
- This is called: the circle of poison.
