These days the healthcare marketplace is getting more demanding and
hospitals now must demonstrate that the often expensive therapies are
worthwhile.  In our case, we're planning to use the SF-36 patient
outcomes questionnaire for selected groups of patients.  I'm interested
if anyone out there in netland has had any experience implementing its
use - and more specifically as a document that can be scanned into
a database.  Currently I'm projecting that having data entry personnel
take care of the forms will be more cost effective than a scanner
and the applications interface necessary to make it work.  But, as the
populations we survey expand then the volume may in time justify
investing in one.  If you have some helpful tips garnered from
experience I'd appreciate it!  I'd ofcourse appreciate input if you've
dealt with any kind of healthcare data collection forms as scanned
documents, but the SF-36 is what I'm really looking for.  Thanks!
