- Chances are you're seeing minerals precipitating out of the water, not mold.
- Yes, fungi can grow pretty quickly, but everything points to an inanimant
- cause of your phenomenon.
-
- There are LOTS and LOTS of fungi ("molds") out there. We don't even have
- a good ballpark estimate on the number of species. Some people with
- allergies (usually to mold spores, the reproductive bodies) are allergic
- to lots and lots of fungi, others to only a few species.
-
- Best way to decide how bad a spore population you have in your house is
- to compare fungal counts indoors and outdoors. There's a number of papers
- on how to do this -- you'd probably want to talk with an environmental
- specialist, a mycologist, or an industrial hygenist.
