  16. This thread began as commentary on the Talking Barbie doll that says, "Math
  17. class is hard!"  Mattel discontinued that variant and agreed to replace
  18. any doll whose repertoire contained the offending sentence.

  20. NBC broadcast a followup a few days ago.  Mattel reports that five dolls
  21. have been returned for replacement.  It's a much better deal to contact
  22. a collector, who may offer as much as $150.  And the mother who started
  23. the protest has not exchanged a doll.  Her daughter is attached to it,
  24. and won't consider a replacement.
