  25. This is childish and selfish.  Whatever the current laws are, the US
  26. government PURCHASED Alaska with the TAXPAYERS money.  Thus it
  27. belongs to all Americans.

  29. The reason the government has to control the use of the land is
  30. because there are enough idiots in America to do considerable
  31. damage.  There are those who don't see a need for trees.  There are
  32. those who do environmentally conscious things only because they are
  33. _forced_ to.  If there was no control, your prestine Alaska would be
  34. nothing more than an oil field for Exxon.
