-
- Obviously "stupid" is a value judgement based upon your opinion, not
- facts.

-
- Japan is a highly nationalistic company. Corporations and the
- government work hand in hand. Unlike the US, you can not draw a
- distinctions between the two. If a company or an industry wants the
- government to support their plans against outsiders, they've got it.

-
- Do you read? A: we bombed the hell out of the old companies.
- B: having a long range plan does not mean the plan is
- static, but changes to it still consider the long term.

-
- Little conflict occurs in dealing with the outside world. Japanese are
- united against outsiders.

-
- Who said its a secret. Only you seemed to have missed the point that they
- have adopted strategies that run for decades. In the US, long-term means
- till the end of the fiscal quarter. In Japan it means till the objectives
- are achieved.

-
- The Japanese are uniniterested in views. Protectionism will be supported
- as long as it works, and if it stops working they will adjust their long-
- term plans to fit the what works.

- Japan: Any country in which a) corporate strategy is not driven
- by short term economic goals and b) government support is available
- for eliminating the effects of competition by the outside world.
