- NEW YORK LOOKS AT 'GREEN PRICING'
-
- The New York Public Service Commission is working on a
- "green pricing" plan that would allow consumers to choose
- whether to pay higher electricity bills for power from
- clean, renewable energy sources, according to The Energy
- Daily.
-
- I wonder if each customer is allowed his own choice as to what
- he considers clean, renewable sources. I suppose the "renewable"
- is designed to exclude nuclear. However, the idea that 40 to
- 50 percent would agree to pay extra for "clean, renewable power"
- is implausible to me. It can lead to nice lawsuits about how to
- allocate costs among the various power sources. Another Lawyers'
- Relief Act, I expect.
