- Hi All,
-
- Recently I learned that a friends mother suffers from Hodgkins (sp?)
- disease. As a result, her motor control has become very poor and she is
- having alot of trouble changing channels on her tv set. The problem is
- that her remote control (supplied by the cable company) only gives the
- user a certain amount of time to press the required numbers to change the
- channel (IE 3 & 8 to change to 38). As a result of her condition, she
- cannot enter the numbers quick enough to operate the remote. There are
- only three channels which she actually watches with the highest numbered
- one being 38. Does anybody have any suggestions which would allow me to
- build some sort of circuit which would allow her to select any one of
- these 3 (and only these 3) stations with the press of a single button?
- was thinking of one of the older wired remotes which had a series of
- buttons along the top with a seperate button for each channel but I'm not
- sure if they go up to 38. If they do, I could probably put together a
- small wired remote which would give her three large buttons (one for each
- channel) to work with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
