- purchased a Sony surround sound receiver which I beleive is the same model
- and he's currently on his third. The first one had a defective remote and
- some LED on the main unit refused to turn off fully (something else too I
- believe). The second one seemed to be fully functional but it produced a
- continuous hum until it warmed up (several minutes later). He was told
- that it was because his satellite speakers where 4 ohms and not 8 but the
- owners manual seems to indicate that 4 ohm speakers are fine. I'm not
- sure if he's received the third yet but I'm curious to see if it's DOA as
- well. This sounds very uncharacteristic of Sony.
