- Has anyone ever heard of 'Glow Cubes?' I remember reading somewhere
- that they were tritium isotope incased in a acrylic plastic block with trace
- Phosporous. Decay released beta-radiation that stimulated the phosphorous and
- emmited light. The high speed electrons never penetrated the surface of the
- acrylic block. The glow cubes were highly portable light sources with no
- external power requirements, putting out few watts of light for years.
- I wish I remember were I read this, could of been in Scientific
- American... but it was some time ago that I read this, prob on the order of
- 3-6 months.
