  12. I am a newcomer to astronomy and would be grateful for some
  13. guidance on a couple of points.

  15. Firstly I am using a secondhand home built 6" Newtonian telescope
  16. but have little understanding of how to set up and maintain the 
  17. instrument.

  19. Are there any recommended books on this subject ?
  20. What power eyepiece lenses should I be able to use ? (and where in 
  21. the UK can I buy them from ?)

  24. Also, as a beginner I would appreciate some recommendations for 
  25. introductory books on astronomy in general.
