- It is my understanding that most rain forest loss is due to slash and
- burn agriculture. I'm sure that a targeted species such as rosewood
- would be affected by export to woodworkers but the vast majority of
- loss is agriculture. Rain forest soil is surprisingly bad which is
- why the people move every few years.
