- The best information that I've ever gotten on a piece of equipment was
- a stack of manuals that I received when I ordered the service manual for
- my old SONY SLHF-75 Betamax VCR. Not only did I get a set of service and
- trouble-shooting manuals, I also got a pretty thick book called the
- Operations Manual. The Op Manual described how everything was supposed
- to work in the machine, including all the features such as that EDIT
- switch, and the Control-S and Control-L interfaces. It all came for
- their standard price of $20 plus shipping. Since then, I've ordered
- service manuals for other SONY VCRs, and I was disappointed to find
- the extra manual not included. In the future, I would try to ask
- specifically for the "Operations Manual" when I make another order.
