  13.     I have a 2 year old Sharp MTS stereo HiFi VCR.  I recently got
  14. a Kenwood ProLogic receiver and some surround speakers.  The surround
  15. performance is evident when watching encoded cable TV and playing encoded
  16. rented movies.
  17.     I've recorded encoded movies off cable, but when played back the
  18. surround was absent.  Is my VCR just passing the encoded signal through
  19. to the receiver in the first cases?  Are stereo HiFi VCRs incapable
  20. of *recording* surround sound encoding?  Am I asking to many stupid
  21. questions?
