  11. My venerable 12 year old 19" Magnavox finally bit the dust over the holidays.
  12. It's time to buy a new monitor!

  14. After educating myself a bit by reading this newsgroup and TPV
  15. (A wonderfulllll magazine) it seems that in order to obtain
  16. a "good" monitor I either have to:
  17.  
  18. (A) Go to the high-end consumer sets, pay lots of money, and pray, or
  19. (B) Go to an industrial spec monitor, pay LOTS more money, and worry a bit or
  20. (C) Pay OUTRAGEOUS sums of money and obtain a broadcast quality set.

  22. The likely targets in the 19-23" range are probably the Sony KVM or PVM's.
  23. Is there anybody else? Is there an online index of past TPV's for reference?
  24.  
  25. And yes, I will get a copy of AVS, and find a dealer who will work with me.
  26. I'll report back in a month or so on how this experience goes.
