  11. I'm in the market for a new VCR and I've noticed that the Mitsubishi and
  12. Electrohome models are virtually identical.  I'm curious to know if they
  13. are built to the same specifications, or if they are merely the same
  14. design but built to different specs?  Or are they really the exact same
  15. unit with a different name plate?

  17. While on the topic, I'd like a VCR with (at least) the following features:

  19.         1) VHS HiFi (not S-VHS)
  20.         2) Real time tape-counter display.
  21.         3) High Quality Tuner (I presently have a Quasar HiFi VCR and the
  22.            tuner on it really sucks).
  23.         4) Reasonably fast transition from FF to Play to FF, etc.
  24.         5) "Time left on tape" display (if possible).  I understand that
  25.            only the SONYs and the JVCs have this feature, and for
  26.            obvious reasons I'd like to avoid buying a JVC HiFi deck.  I
  27.            thought I'd avoid the SONYs since I haven't liked the audio
  28.            quality of any Sony product I've ever purchased.

  30. The Mitsubishi U56+ seems to have the first 4 features.  Does anyone
  31. have any other suggestions about what I should investigate?
