- I'm in the market for a new VCR and I've noticed that the Mitsubishi and
- Electrohome models are virtually identical. I'm curious to know if they
- are built to the same specifications, or if they are merely the same
- design but built to different specs? Or are they really the exact same
- unit with a different name plate?
-
- While on the topic, I'd like a VCR with (at least) the following features:
-
- 1) VHS HiFi (not S-VHS)
- 2) Real time tape-counter display.
- 3) High Quality Tuner (I presently have a Quasar HiFi VCR and the
- tuner on it really sucks).
- 4) Reasonably fast transition from FF to Play to FF, etc.
- 5) "Time left on tape" display (if possible). I understand that
- only the SONYs and the JVCs have this feature, and for
- obvious reasons I'd like to avoid buying a JVC HiFi deck. I
- thought I'd avoid the SONYs since I haven't liked the audio
- quality of any Sony product I've ever purchased.
-
- The Mitsubishi U56+ seems to have the first 4 features. Does anyone
- have any other suggestions about what I should investigate?
