- I'm using the Definitive C1 on my Panasonic 27" flatscreen (the deluxe
- model with PIP). It's a good piece of work, and has fine sound quality.
- If you can afford the extra dollars, it's an improvement.
-
- One thing that you should be aware of with this combination, however, is
- the fact that the Panasonic seems to be *quite* sensitive to magnetic
- fields above the set. I have noted that the upper right hand side of the
- screen is especially finicky. After two different C1s plus a trip from
- the local TV repairman, one is forced to conclude that the set itself
- is at fault.
-
- Notes: Don't place the C1 directly on top of the Panasonic. I have some
- 5-6" above it on the top of the A/V cabinet (the problem is bad enough
- there). You'll have to play with placement to find the point of "least
- interference." Be prepared to invert the speaker 180 degrees; it helped
- in my system.
-
- Given the "magnetic shielding" on the C1 and the "superior design" of
- the Panasonic, I confess to a certain frustration at having to go through
- this to obtain decent center channel sound. You'd think that Panasonic
- would take every step to shield their tube on that (apparently sensitive)
- upper right hand side. Or does the fault lie with Definitive Technology?
-
- Strange....
-
- I guess the next step would be to try the speaker on the shelf beneath
- the monitor. I'll post the results should I attempt this. (At the
- present time, I've found a configuration that seems to work fairly well
- above the monitor. Inertia sets in....)
