-
- This is the second or third time (month) that they have done that.
- Actually they have for some time been mentioning that particular movies
- were available on tape and DISC. Roger Ebert has been a fan of
- laserdiscs for several years. At least the last 3 issues of his book
- have made special mention of them in the introduction and some essay
- material.
-
- Since the Chaplin release is from Image (well Fox thru Image) isn't
- it time for Image to sponsor a few ads?
-
- >Also, the LD segment was followed by a Pioneer LD player ad -- the first time

-
- There have been an increasing number of Pioneer ads over the last year
- or two, usually focusing on CD-LD combi players. Usually places like
- MTV rather than mainstream 'Prime Time'. The ads highlighting LDs
- on Siskel and Ebert appeared simultaneously with the LD of the month
- feature and I think they are not there during the other S&E shows
- (the rest of the month). Still a little is better than nothing.
-
- >As we've discussed, the change in LD from a collectors' medium to a mass

-
- It doesn't have to become a mass medium. More collectors need to be
- made aware of it. That way there will be more demand for discs, but
- the demand will be from finicky people :-).
