- I presume you mean the MGM version, as opposed to Criterion. The MGM version
- is excellent and dirt cheap to boot ($30 in Canada). The transfer was done
- from a 70mm print. MGM recently got a machine for doing transfers from 70mm
- prints. West Side Story and, I believe, 2001 are the first two transfers to
- be so done. WSS opens with Robert Wise stating that this is the best version
- of WSS ever produced on video. BUT IT!!!!

- AVOID THIS ONE!!! The Pan & Scan version was terrible and the widescreen
- version is a marginal improvement, and expensive. Perhaps someday the
- rights will revert back to Warner Bros. and they'll do a decent job on it.
