- The Yamaha DSP-E200 unit has a tape-monitor loop so that it would not tie up
- your existing tape monitor loop. It just replaces the one it takes over.
-
- It is better to use the tape-monitor loop of your integrated amp than to use
- the preout, because the DSP unit adds ambience signals that needs to be fed
- back to your front L+R speakers. Unless your Denon unit has pre-out &
- main-in (which is almost like a tape-monitor loop except that the output
- level can vary), the additional signals will not come back to the amp.
-
- I have a Yamaha DSP-E1000, and I set the volume control on my receiver to a
- constant level. The DSP unit has a main volume control, plus independent
- controls for front, center, and rear channels. I use my receiver to select
- the source, and use the DSP unit to control the volume.
-
- The Yamaha DSP units are very good. I definitely recommend them over the
- AudioSource. Having Dolby-ProLogic is only half of the picture, the DSP
- sound field processing for audio-only sources is well worth the price of the
- unit by themselves.
