- Sorry if these are FAQs; I don't read this group regularly.

- Question 1: I'll be flying from Newark, NJ to Ft. Lauderdale in March
- on Delta. They told me I can get seat assignments 60 days
- prior to the flight and I can do it over the phone. They also told me
- that I can get actual boarding passes 30 days prior to the flight but
- that I have to go to a ticket counter to pick them up; they won't mail
- them to me. I like to have my boarding passes before I get to the
- airport on the day of the flight. That way, I don't have to stand in
- any lines and can arrive 15 minutes before departure and still make it
- (with carry-on luggage, of course). Actual boarding passes are more of
- a guarantee of the specific seats you've chosen as well; assignments
- alone are nearly worthless (as I discovered several years ago on a
- Continental flight).

- So the question is: does anyone know a way I could convince Delta to
- mail the boarding passes to me? I'd rather not have to take a trip out
- to the airport just to pick them up.

- Question 2: What's the cheapest/easiest/best way to rent a car at the
- Ft. Lauderdale airport? I'll need it for about 3.5 days
- and would be happy with something like a Ford Escort, Toyota Corolla,
- etc. Do the airlines have any arrangements with the car rental places?
- I already bought my airline tickets (over the phone using my Visa card)
- but I forgot to ask the agent about car rentals.
