  11. I will be in London in February next year. While there, I thought we could
  12. make a quick 3-day trip into France (see Paris, say). Ideally, we would
  13. like to take the ferry (hovercraft?) from London to Calais or Caen, pick
  14. up a rental car there and drive to Paris or outskirts.

  16. Fodor's guide does not list any London-coastal France ferry service, though
  17. they are available from Dover/Folkstone, etc.

  19. 1. We want to avoid travelling to Dover for the ferry. Is there a
  20. ferry from London? If yes, could I have the name of the co.?

  22. 2. How is France in febrary? The guide says to avoid France in february (lots
  23. of skiers and school children), but since we have no choice at this time,
  24. we will have to go then.

  26. 3. Could you recommend a reasonable motel/b&b outside Paris? We want to
  27. avoid staying in the city if we can help it. We would then drive/bus into
  28. the city for the sights.

  30. (Our other option it to take the bus from London-Paris (via ferry), but
  31. then again we will need to stay in the city in a reasonable place.)
