- In Flagstaff: 10-20 minutes north of town is "Snowbowl"
- Vertical drop: 2,300 feet 4 lifts (only one if you are an intermediate or above)
- Lift Ticks: $29/day
-
- Avoid this place like the plague on weekends and or holidays.
- Weekdays are usually great though. Best eats in town are Apline
- Pizza, Bun Huggers and El Charo. (pizza, burgers and mex respectively)
-
- Also on the way from Flagstaff to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is
- the Flagstaff Nordic Center (XC skiing)
-
-
- Near Pinetop/Lakeside: Apache Sunrise (4.5 hours from Phoenix and probably 2.5 hours away from Flagstaff?)
-
- This is the best skiing area in AZ. Located in Eastern AZ the
- vertical drop is aroun 1800' or so. Lift ticks are aroun $27 and
- there are 8 lifts. They also added a new lodge this year.
-
-
- There are a couple of other areas in AZ Mt Lemmon (near Tucson) and
- also the Williams Ski area (near Williams) but the two above are your
- best bets.
