  14. Does anybody have any opinions about
  15. "alpine touring" boots/bindings versus telemark boots/bindings?

  17. Alpine touring uses general mountaineering style boots
  18.   i.e. suitable for crampons/ice climbing, 
  19.   and either Ramer bindings (loose heel)
  20.   or lock-down bindings similar to alpine bindings.

  22. I've heard that alpine touring is very popular in Europe,
  23. and I used this equipment once in a ski mountaineering course.

  25. Are they any U.S. suppliers for alpine touring equipment?
