- This is the first time I have read or posted to this newsgroup, so I
- apologize if my request is out of place (I saw some discussions of
- equipment, so I thought it would be appropriate).
-
- I am looking to buy a pair of rollerblades, but I am not familiar with
- the different brands. Because I am new to the sport, I am not in need
- of top-of-the-line equipment, just a pair to get me started, so that I
- can learn how to use them, and possibly participate in some of the local
- street hockey games later on. Basically, I'm looking for something
- inexpensive, but fairly durable. Can anyone make any suggestions? I've
- noticed some models in some of the wholesale magazines that sell for
- around $50 (quoted as $120-$140 reg. price)... some of the brand names were
- Aeroglide, Ultra-Wheels, and Roller Derby. Any opinions? Any particular
- brands or frame materials (plastic, aluminum) to stay away from entirely?
-
- Email responses preferred, but I'll check the group too.
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
- Jim
