  28. Ice Dancing is too much hard work to be a pickup place, I think.
  29. Yes, there is a strong social aspect, but having been to many many 
  30. Ice Dances, it really isn't a place where hormones run wild.  Or
  31. at least, it doesn't seem that way to me.  It seems more like a 
  32. ballroom dance.  Some folks go home together afterwards, but it's
  33. the exception, not the rule.

  35. Best I can tell, however, the ratio of gays to straights is a little
  36. lower in Dance than in Freestyle.  (I don't know much about pairs.)
  37. That's only from a small personal sample, but it is noticable.  The
  38. ratio is by no means zero, though.

  40. Still, I have to remark that there is a gay professional Ice Dancer
  41. who has had two of the most gorgeous partners that I have ever seen.  
  42. If I were in his shoes (boots?) I'd have a hard time concentrating.  
  43. So maybe that's some reason why those women chose him as a partner;
  44. he is there only for the sport.
