- General sea-life interest story.
-
- At present there are 7 Killer Whales trapped in a narrow inlet
- on the Shetlands. The islanders had thought about herding them
- back out to sea with boats but have decided to wait a couple of
- weeks until after New Year when the water should be higher.
-
- They are easily seen from the road-side at Catfirth Voe on
- Mainland. I spoke to a reporter from the Shetland News Agency,
- who had been out on a boat to see them, and she said that the
- whales seemed to be feeding okay which was one of the factors
- considered when they decided to leave them there.
-
- If anyone is considering diving with the whales they should
- contact the Shetland News Agency. If I get a chance I intend
- going up to photograph them between Christmas and New Year
