- Hi. I had the pleasure of riding the Steel Phantom this summer. (The planet's
- second best amusement ride, IMO.) Anyway, I loved the ride, and was very
- fascinated by the layout. I don't really have a question per se, but I am
- just curious to see if anyone else out there has as great a respect for it
- as I do; maybe someone has a story to tell on its construction two years
- ago. (As many people now are discussing the building of the new Batman's ;
- was anyone out there around to document the day by day building of this
- ride? Must have been a "drawer soaking" moment to see that second hill go
- up; damn, that thing is cool.)
-
- Also, now many people are discussing rides before they are built (i.e Kumba,
- Batman's ,etc.) Did you guys know about the Phantom beforehand? Was it
- always known that it would have a record setting hill/speed, or did it
- just come about as the ride was costructed?
-
- Lastly, when I was there, I had to capture the second hill on film. I exited
- the park, climbed over a park border fence, ran(painfully) down a 70 foot
- incline, craled through some bushes and poison ivy (all in a Maintanence
- only zone of the park!) to capture some shots of the hill, from outside
- the coaster border chain link fence. I like my photos, but they are not
- quite straight ahead, at the hill. Has anyone else obtained photos, by
- a siomilar adventure or from magazine, of this architectural wonder of
- a hill? I'd like to get my hands on something of the like.
-
- Any elaborations appreciated; thanks for listening.
