  33. I must admit, I truly like the carpentry line.  ;)

  35. I am not at all sure that being royalty is "the appropriate reward" for
  36. all excellence.  I simply feel that, as (arguably) the highest station to
  37. which one can rise, it ought to be open to those who excell in *any* area,
  38. rather than only one particular one.  One can attain a peerage, after all,
  39. through excellence in any endeavor; why cannot one likewise aspire to the
  40. throne similarly?

  42. Royalty are not special only because I "think they are special".  They are
  43. special because the "mythos" of the SCA tries very hard to *make* them
  44. special.  I didn't give them regalia or ceremony .... the SCA did.
