  25. Note also that people's reaction to electricity, like their reaction to
  26. chemical mace, genital strikes, and other magic-bullet stuff, is highly
  27. variable.  Some will howl and run away, some will rip the batteries
  28. out with their teeth and throw it at you, and a few might just
  29. fibrillate before your very eyes.  Yup.  High voltage could constitute
  30. deadly force... and if you're going to do THAT, might as well use
  31. something that is reliably and predictably deadly!

  33. I'd guess that they fall into the same category as aerosols -- better than
  34. no weapon at all if you don't have any real empty-hand skills, but
  35. inferior to gun/knife/skillfully and earnestly wielded kubotan or
  36. Mag-Lite, etc.

  38. If the government would just come to its senses and initiate a
  39. public coming-of-age ritual where on your 18th birthday you
  40. stand up on a little platform in the town square and register 
  41. to vote and are issued a 50-state open-carry permit and a free
  42. .45, none of this would be nee... oops, wrong newsgroup!  :)
