- I believe if you check, fixed gear racing bikes are the exception, they
- also have some kind of locking mechanisim, so the pedals will not come off
- unexpectatly. Every unicycle that I have delt with (schwin, miata, emory,
- and the unicycle factory) unscrew when pedaling backwards (I've learned this
- from experiance) I don't ride much anymore, but on my current unicycle I
- have used pipe tread tape to keep the pedals on for riding backwards.
