  14. Joseph, can you say, "Rationalization"?  Sure, I knew you could.
  15. Keep in mind that what separates man from the rest of the primates 
  16. is his ability to think.  Unfortunately, what separates him even 
  17. further, sometimes, is his ability to ignore some of his abilities 
  18. and excuse himself by recalling that he's "just an animal after all".

  20. Don't get me wrong about this... I laugh at ethnic jokes as much as 
  21. the next guy, maybe even more so.  But I don't try to justify them.  
  22. They can come out of hatred, or fear, but they can also come simply 
  23. out of a sense of humor, which is where I find their value.  All I'm
  24. trying(with a great deal of difficulty) to say, is that "because 
  25. everybody does it" or "because it happened to me when I was growing 
  26. up" is a cheap excuse for hurting someone - that's any kind of 
  27. hurting and any kind of someone, just IMHO.
