- As quoted from <1i308gINN75d@mirror.digex.com> by curt@access.digex.com (curt williams):
-
- # I keep hearing vaguely worded criticisms of the 10mm cartridge, but I
- # can never get any specifics. I understand that the FBI dumped the
- # 10 after having problems. Were these problems:
-
- Mostly problems with the S&W pistols they bought. They had the nasty habit of
- jamming in such a way as to not only be incapable of being fired, but of even
- being cleared or disassembled. Beating the pistol with a rubber mallet, was
- not considered acceptable as standard field stripping procedure.... :)
-
- Supposedly the problem was with the decocking lever, which was over long and
- jammed the slide shut. I hear the problem has been "fixed" and that they plan
- to reissue the pistols.
-
- I'll stick with my .40S&W Glock 22.
