- Well, my MAC-11 is 1400 according to the book, and when loaded hot
- cycles even faster. It's far too fast to be useful as an SMG. The Army
- supposedly did a study (it's mentioned in Janes, I think) and determined
- the optimum rate of fire for an SMG as 350 RPM. The Thompson ran about
- 450 depending on the variant, and was a close as anyone ever got.

- could get the rate of fire that slow I'd be thrilled. It sounds more
