  14. I have some general questions regarding this gun.

  16. I will be inheriting a 257 Roberts Ruger rifle some time in the future.
  17.  
  18. I normally hunt deer with a Savage 30-30 in northern Vermont. Would the 257
  19. have enough stopping power for deer in fairly dense woods? 
  20.  
  21. I have heard that the 257 has the rifling of the barrel in the opposite 
  22. direction than that of standard guns. Is this true? And if so, why would
  23. a manufacturer want to do this?
